I'm Looking To Buy A Canon All In One Printer.

I have one MP220 it takes Pixma 40/41 cartridges. I want a new one as near the same as possible to the one i have. I've been very happy with it but I want to renew as it is over 9 years old. Any ideas on the best price ?

To get the best value in the long term you should avoid the cheaper Canon models (which use a single cartridge for all of the colours). The 5-cartridge models work out far cheaper to run (and produce better quality photos). The best deal on such a printer at the moment appears to be for the iP7250:

A 5-cartridge printer has TWO black cartridges. One contains a pigment-based ink, which is best for document printing on plain paper, while the other contains a dye-based ink, which is best for printing images onto photo paper.

It also has separate cartridges for each colour (rather than a single cartridge containing all three colours). That means that when one colour runs out you only need to replace that one colour, rather than having to replace all three together.

I use a Canon Pixma iP7250 Wireless Printer. It has 5 different colour cartridges, as Chris said. The replacement cartridges cost £13 for 4 sets of 5, on Amazon. I still have 3 sets left after buying the full pack in January. However, if you are looking for a printer/scanner/fax etc, then this is not what you're looking for. It's just a printer, but a really good one that cost me £67.

I'd been relying upon the filters on PC World's website to do their job properly, which clearly they can't! (Selecting 'All-in-One Printers', within 'Canon', definitely leads to a selection of printers that includes the iP7250 and from there I only checked that it uses 5 cartridges, rather than checking that it includes a scanner - as that shouldn't have been necessary!)

The best deal on a 5-cartridge printer that actually does include a scanner then seems to be on the TS5051:

I'd been using an HP All-in-One for years and paying more for the cartridges than the cost of the printer. A friend of mine put me on to the Canon iP7250 and it's proved well worthwhile. I still use my HP for scanning.

Yes the one i have scans prints etc does everything which is what i want.

Definitely i need an all in one printer. I need to do a lot of copies and scan a lot of stuff as i teach Spanish and need many copies eff for the students
