I think 8a is meant to be "Exactly", but I'm not 100% sure.

A similar clue "Stoat beheaded and cut up? Quite" has the same idea, "[s]toat" becoming "to a T" after being "trisected".

Might need to check the crossing letters, but it's either "exactly" or a synonym.
