This being a UK-based site it was of course pointless asking this question here, the British are exceptionally coy/touchy about all money matters (except "he has plenty money, he's one of Them"), even completely anonymously. In other countries this is not so (perhaps also hct's own ?) and I know of one where every year every taxpayer's annual declared income is published along with how much tax they pay - but that is the sort of clarity the mere suggestion of which gives Brits fits.

hct, what I would point out is that how much money is in an idividual's bank account does not tell much of a story except perhaps, if it is a substantial sum, the owner not knowing how to make the best use of his/her money.
