English Blogger Fired from Her Job
3 Answers
What do you think about "la Petite Anglaise" being fired in France even though she tried to keep her identity hidden. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060720/ap_on_re_e u/france_fired_for_blogging She didn't reveal company secrets. She was a "Bridget Jones" style blogger; that is to say she wrote almost entirely about herself and her collleagues in a humorous way -- but perhaps, it can be argued, in a pointedly truthful way. And yet she was fired because the company felt it experienced "loss of trust." Do you think it is right to fire someone who keeps her identity secret and yet blogs about her office life in a (humorously) truthful manner? (We could all be in TROUBLE, don't you know?!)

Using her real first name and splodging her photo everywhere was probably a bit of a dead give away, so I'd have sacked her for being thick rather than for "loss of trust", who want's someone that dense working for them?
Seriously though I couldn't care less one way or the other, but she didn't keep her identity secret or she'd not have been found out did she, so I assume that the case will hinge on her lack of anonymity.
