Shrubs For A Small Garden

I'm currently revamping a border in my garden. Has anyone any suggestions for small shrubs that don't need a lot of attention?

Lots of different ones, with different sized leaves.

But generally you put them in the ground and they grow.

Bit of a silly statement of mine really, that applies to all plants.

I really meant that you don't need to do much with them, they are low maintenance.

They may need trimming back after a few years if they get too big, but apart from that they are easy to grow.

Select 'Low maintenance' under 'Plant resilience'. Under 'Plant type' select 'Shrubs'. Choose the best option for your needs under 'Planting places'. Then adjust as much, or as little as you like from what's left.

Anything with more than one season of interest, so berberis flowers,berries autumn colour, Skimmia, viburnum tinus, Fatsia because bees and hoverflies love the flowers and it gives a nice exotic look, Any shrub fuchsia, any small clump forming bamboo I like the dwarf golden one. Rosemary if the soil is free draining, and a lovely edible one not really a shrub but worth growing tree spinach
