Diverticulitis & Shingles. :-(

Just been diagnosed with diverticulitis. 2 lots of antibiotics for 2 weeks. No alcohol.... Pain been awful. On top of that, I have shingles. My top right hand side of back. I thought I'd pulled a muscle or trapped nerve. Pain been awful. Then this morning I started itching and noticed some big red spots! I've been given Aciclovir. Need to take 5 each day fir a week. The thing is, if you are reading this sqad, I accidently took 2 together. Will it be ok? Thanks.

Thanks minty. I shall be rattling soon with all these drugs. Not to mention the ones I'm already on!

Blimey.......you have got your hands full with those two painful conditions.
Taking 2 Aciclovar together....no big deal.

I had shingles in February - you have my sympathy for that alone! No way you can rush getting better, getting your energy back takes months. The two together are really a double-whammy, you have my deep sympathy. Take great care.

Thanks Mamya & Jourdain. I have been feeling run down lately. I've had a hectic month. I was told 5 weeks ago I'm pre -diabetic. So need to sort that out too. It never rains unless it pours... :-)

I had adult chicken pox recently and that was bad enough I understand Shingles is dreadful. Hope you feel better soon Patsy x

OMG, poor you. I have had both and they are very very painful. How are they treating the Diverticulis ?

With two lots of anti biotics over two weeks samuraisan. If no improvement in a few days will need antibiotics intravenously.
