It's totally harmless, so you don't need to wear Gloves or Goggles, and you don't have to be in a well ventilated area.

No, don’t have. I was recommended to use a wire brush spinning machine like a large dremmel but don’t have one of those either. It’s an aluminium frame btw

Do you reaally need to strip the paint back to the bare metal .. aluminium oxide paper of various grades will give you a perfectly good surface to acheive a good finish when painting .. assumingg you are re-painting.

I've never found spinning wire brushes very effective. Stephen_G's solution sounds good.

Just read your last post .. sorry caustic and aluminium are not a happy mixture. Google it and you will see why.

If you are leaving it ally and not repainting it I used Nitromors followed by Scotchbrite, or get your local powder-coater to strip it back for you :)

Get the frame media or bead blasted. A car restoration garage / business should have the equipment.

Money is limited as I would have loved to get it done by a professional and the frame chromed but can’t do the plan is to remove paint and respray myself.

I never knew that Tony, is there a reason why? Anyways couldn’t chrome it anyway even if it could be done as funds are lacking but curious as why al can’t be chromed.

The chemicals used in the chrome plating process would seriously damage aluminium.
Anodising is the way to go with aluminium.
