At the end of Night at The Opera (Marx Bros, 1935), what is the final song the two lovers sing? (Generally I can take or leave opera, and would rather, like Groucho, drive round the block to avoid it, but that particular song haunts me.

Information appreciated.

the main one at the end is Miserere (it says here)

A superb piece of music , a long time favourite of mine.
It is a super piece.
I mistook Miserere to be Allegri - Miserere mei, Deus but still a fine piece of music.

Just got round to playing the mamyalynne piece. Unfortunately, it's not the song sung by the two lovers. I'll keep on digging.
Should be on the soundtrack linked to.

No, I click skimmed through, but no Miserere duet.

But having got the right titles etc, I was able to dig around the internet, and found 'real' opera singers doing the duet. Gord, what a row, what shrieking, what an assault on the senses!

Callas might have had a loud voice, but darn me it weren't a pretty one.

When Kitty Carlisle and Alan Jones sang it on Night at the Opera, it brought tears to my eyes. With 'real' opera singers, I was diving for the off switch.

Oh well, good to know the title, at least. I'll make a recording off an old copy of the Marx Bros film, and enjoy that.
