How does that work? At some time the child is bound to discover that there are boys and there are girls – and that they are not the same - so when a child asks the question “What am I?”, what does the enlightened parent answer? Do they lie and say ‘You’re neither’, and if so is that, in effect, denying the child its true identity?

I’m inclined to think that in their determination to allow their children to ‘be who they are’, progressive parents are in danger of raising a generation of very confused people.

This child is, apparently, neither boy nor girl, but ‘They-By’.

Needs pretty dramatic surgery to add and subtract chromosomes throughout the body. Then would you want to be in a relationship with a GM, or is that CM, individual ? Go for an organic woman ;-)

mushroom.......I am not trying to be clever or belittle you in any way and i think that your post is most enlightening.
I would say that 99% of the population (including sqad) would struggle to answer the question, "what is the difference between gender and sex."
So there should be nothing to be embarrassed or ashamed of.

Picture the morning school assembly. Teacher shouts--boys line up on this side and girls on that side. Poor little 'they-by' won't know where to go .

sqad, thanks - but was just pointing out that regardless of an individual's genetic coding, the end result is no longer set in stone as it can be transformed by modern medicine into whatever the individual's gender state of mind, and recognised and respected by the law.

Mushroom - are you saying that XY can be transformed into XX ?
There's a laboratory I know of which is researching the Y chromosome, and no men work there, because researchers with their own Y chromosomes can mess up the results. Are you saying someone who looks like a woman but has a Y chromosome should be allowed to work there ?

What a load of codswallop. With all the sidestreams that have appeared recently when a child is born it is either girl or boy. For goodness sakes stop muddying the waters.
