Why is it getting harder to get a GP appointment?
Ive posted before about trying to get an appointment to see my doctor but now its even worse.
At my surgery we used to have to ring up at 8 and see if there were any appointments left for that day. Now its changed to ring up at 10 and see if there are any appointments for the following week. Been ringing for 4 days now and cant get an appointment, got to try again on Monday. Got told today that there is always the walk in centre (where the waiting time is usually 2+ hours) I asked why I should go to the walk in centre when I have a GP and I feel that its my own GP that I need to see anyway.

Anybody else having this happen to them with their surgery?
Thanks.

Probably same at mine mamy, behave like schoolgirls non the less.
Just say that you are discharging blood. This should get you an appointment then you can discuss other symptoms. In my bitter experience when you go to the doctor's or into hospital you leave your dignity by the door.
If you want an appointment, grow-up and tell them what the problem is. I bet they've got far better things to giggle about than your ***.
I've been at both Hospital and the GP this week, both times I was treated politely, respectfully and yes we have a few laughs too but I was fully satisfied with my treatment.

I would tell the chap in the bus queue what ailed me if I thought it would help.

Embarrassment can be very bad for your health, please believe me on that one.

Have you read the rest of this post?
I wont waste doctors time....
I just want an appointment to check things out.
Not an ERMGENCY appointment, just a routine appointment.
Tell them it's a palaeolithic problem, you have a sauras!
Well go online or keep phoning each morning.

A sauras arris to be precise JD ;-)
Nailit, I think you should calm down, get the appointment anyway you can, you have a right to see the GP even if you are in a bad mood and fustrated, I cannot believe they wouldn't let you just because you are "anxious", then for goodness sake find out how to get one online. It cannot be difficult, I imagine you just need to login with your ss number, it's easy peasy here and have been doing it for years.

Im always calm. Well, sometimes calm. OK sometimes calm at times, Occasionally calm. calm on occasion then.....
Alright I dont know what calm is......
I don't know why you're being so stubborn. My doctors have a recorded message when you phone from a senior doctor saying to tell the receptionist what is wrong. They need to know what doctor you need to see.

One time I phoned the doctors regarding my son. Explained the issue to the receptionist and the doctor was on the phone to me within 20 minutes. She put my call through as urgent.

They receive hundreds of calls per day, your issue is not going to stay in their memories.

I'm a very nervous patient regardless of what is wrong and they can hear it in my voice so they always book me in with the really sympathetic doctors. Give the receptionists some credit.

No, the first bit's wrong, Jackdaw, that's gallstones.

The thing you're thinking about goes as far back as the Triassic.
