Ear Wax Dilemma

I have multiple problems with things above my neck because of nasopharyngeal cancer and two rounds of radiotherapy in 2008 and 2013. My ears are not great. My left one is ok with the hearing aid but just in the last few days it seems full of wax. I have bought a cleaning kit on Amazon that involves squirting in water and then sucking it back out with a plastic syringe. It does have some positive reviews.
I wondered if anyone had tried a similar product and found some relief.

I've tried an over the counter device.......... It was rubbish. I wonder with your history a visit to gp. Who may refer you to ENT or assist you with wax removal . Good luck

IF the hearing impairment in you left ear is due to wax, then the method that you have chosen from Amazon seems to be a good choice.
I would soften the "wax" first with Otex or warm olive oil before syringing.
However, if this doesn't work and wax is excluded by visiting your GP, then one must exclude fluid in the ear secondary to you DXT.

No i have never tried the Amazon Kit method personally.

Have you tried an ear candle?
Its not really a candle as such but you pop it in your ear - light it and as it slowly burns down it warms up the ear wax causing a vacuum and sucks it out, leaving it all on the paper. Very good.

Go to your GP. You might try softening it beforehand with olive oil which will facilitate easy removal.

I would get some ear drops, soften it for a few days then phone the go practice. It's one of the practice nurses that usually does it, but the doc might want to do it in view of your history.

You may find that your GP does not do ear wax removal anymore. Neither mine nor my Mum's GPs do ear syringing despite having done this in the past. I have a real problem with ear wax and my GPs advice was to soften the wax with warm Olive oil and then use a DIY kit to remove it at home!
