Today's the day in Dorset, they are everywhere. Is it the same for you?

We had one last week in Bedfordshire.

Not flying ants but normal ants. There's loads of them. I feel bad for killing them.
Why, Spath? They just emerge from the nest and fly away.
Well, don't kill them, Ummmm.

They fly round you first though Tilly. Have just been outside with a senior manager and he was freaking out!
Not here yet thankfully. I don't see them, flyaway Tilly they hang sournd on walls and pavements , one year the whole patio door pane was black with them. Ugh!
I can't have my house infested with ants. They were walking all over the work tops.
We've had a fair few on and off last few days. They were crawling up from cracks in back lawn and on garden path. I put some ant powder down cracks. Got rid of them.
Does this mean the rehab isn't going as well as expected?
We have had one infestation after another. First it was beetles which we've just about managed to get on top of (we were getting rid of around 50 a day). Since then we have had one ants nest after another. All with flying ants. Trouble is, this house is so old and has lots of little holes here and there, everytime we get one sealed up another one reveals itself.

I am dreading spider season. Living surrounded by corn fields under a thatched roof...........
I don't mind spiders. They tend to keep themselves to themselves.
On the plus side, we do not seem to have any mice or rats. I suspect the tarantulas ate them.

I have just discovered the downstairs bathroom is full of ants. Again.
No flying ants yet here but I do remember one year seeing a bride totally smothered in flying ants along with the white limo. It was like something out of a horror film
We seem to have had loads of midges this year. I walked into the cloakroom and there were loads just sitting on the wall.

I felt guilty about killing them as well.
Not seen any, but if they don't bother me, I don't bother them.
Nope.
