Someone I work with from time to time is having to apply for his own job as part of a restructuring within his organisation.

His main attribute is his positive attitude and his wonderful sense of humour, but he's feeling down at the moment. Does anyone have an amusing little youtube clip or similar, about keeping your chin up, staying positive etc which I could send him to cheer him up?

1. Change Focus, Look for Only Positive

You need to become a seeker of good. You need to focus on the positive in your life. Start looking for what is right in a person or situation instead of looking for what is wrong. Recognize your limitations, but focus on your strengths

2. Be an Optimist

3. Build a Positive Self Esteem

Self esteem is the way we feel about ourselves. When we feel good within, our performance goes up and our relations improve both at home and at work. The world looks nicer. What could be the reason? Because there is a direct correlation between our feelings and behavior.

4. Stay Away from Negative Influences

If you associate with achievers you will become one. I f you associate with thinkers, you will become one. If you associate with givers, you will become one. 5. Do One Kind Act Every Day

6. Start Your Day with Something Positive

Read or listen to something positive first in the morning. After a good night’s sleep we are relaxed and our subconscious mind is receptive. It sets the tone for the day, and puts us in the right frame of mind to make the day a positive day.

William James of Harvard University Said, “ If you are going to change your life, you need to start immediately.”

7. Develop an Attitude of Grattitude

Count your blessings, not your troubles. A number of studies have found gratitude to be linked with positive emotions, and overall well-being and life satisfaction.

8. Listen to Music That Sounds The Way You Want to Feel

Music activates the region of the brain that releases the feel good chemical dopamine and also relaxes the body. So “happy” music can in fact make you feel happier!

Feedback sent to the brain from facial muscles can actually impact the development of emotions and the effect is even stronger if you combine the smile with a positive thought.
