I done a dummy run to the village where I am going to be leaving Maxie next week.

It took me ages but finally got there. These roads are just wee country roads etc and to get to this village the road just goes on and on and on - like no cut-offs.

I noticed however that from next Monday they are going to be starting re-surfacing part of this road and now I am unsure how I am going to get to this village.

Will the resurfacing workers allow cars to still go through. Thanks - Also is there any way i can find direct information.

If it's a single track country lane, there will likely be a detour set up - contact where you are taking him.

They are more likely to know what provisions are in place.
Mamya's right - you could also contact the local Highways Agency. I live in a similar-sounding village and roadworks closed the 'main' road, but a diversion was in operation-it was about another 7 miles.
You could put the details in here and see what it brings up.

I have contacted dog-minder and have asked him could he meet me in a nearby village. Hope to hear from him maybe tomorrow. God I hope he does meet me. Tonight's driving was quite gruelling - never mind an apparent diversion next week.

Yippee - got an email from my dog-minder - he is going to meet me where I have suggested. I am so confident now all should go well.
