If the link doesn't work 1 Apocalypse Now, 2 The Apartment, 3 City of God, 4 Chinatown, 5 Sexy Beast, 6 2001: A Space Odyssey, 7 North by Northwest, 8 A Bout de Souffle, 9 Donnie Darko, 10 Manhattan.
I don't think the list was necessarily about the best films to see before you die, hence no Godfather, Citizen Kane Braveheart etc. I think the list comprised films that were considered genre defining, strong visuals and were distinctive because of director. If that makes sense.
I have seen many many films, i go to the cinema on a regular basis, out of that lot i have not seen any at the cinema, tho 2001 a space Odyssey we did go to watch but never went in in the end. I think maybe we were too young at the time, as back then they didn't just let anyone in.
What a joke : the whole programme was just an extended ad for a failing film channel which has had to go "free" as nobody was paying for it. so the advertisers were kicking off as nobody was watching the pathetic output. "Lost in Translation", do me a favour, more like 45 films to aviod before you die of boredom!!!
