My son is getting married within the next few months and I learnt today that his soon to be wife compiled the seating arrangements as to who sits where and with whome with her friend without any consultation with my son

Surely it matters what he thinks about aspects of the wedding like this?

OP is original poster as well as original post

jno......LOL.....OK!...OK!

Thank God for links and websites.

I still think that my definition of OP and OPer makes more sense ;-)

Pushing this even to s further degree of obscurity, it was his mother that said that he was unhappy about the arrangements and not the son, the mother of course being biased.
You say she hasn't consulted your son but he must have been shown the seating plan - otherwise he wouldn't know he's unhappy with it. Why didn't he just say he'd rather some people be seated elsewhere? It's not just you who's unhappy with it, is it?
jno....further thoughts from sqad ;-)

If one types OP as suggested by our internet master, how does one know whether it applies to "Original poster" OR "Original post"
One doesn't........it is ambiguous.

BUT, using sqad's nomenclature it is crystal clear and obvious ......simplicity rules. OP=Original Post OPer=Original Poster.

P.A I hope Andy-Hughes doesn't see this as we may well be here all day.
I agree, Sqad, but since I left my post as Grand Ruler of the Internet in 2007 I no longer have a say in these matters.
Is he unhappy that she did it with the friend, or unhappy with the resulting plan?
jno...;-)
i agree u shouldnt be reacting at all. It's up to them. its a seating plan FGS, and there are months to go. They didnt etch it on a tablet did they? i cant even remember talking to my mum about the seating plan, let alone my husband to be!
I don't think it bodes well, but you can't say or do anything. As Bride's mother I was relegated to next-to-top table which was filled with her dad and a lot of Groom's close family. I wasn't very happy, but didn't spoil their day. 14 yrs later he wants to split up. Bride & Groom should be able to communicate enough to sort out a seating plan!

Are you the Groom to be's Father Breadstick?
According too the OP, yes, he is Mamya.
