Thanks, 2nd last night was a good one.
I apologise for going off at a tangent but as you appear to be somewhat knowledgeable about "space" or at least have an interest in it, can you answer a question, please - or point me in the right direction?

According to several news articles - written for "stargazers" - Mars will be at its closest to earth on 31st July 2018. Where and how will we "ordinary" folk who live in the UK get to see it (if at all)?
Question Author
You will have no problem spotting mars at the end of the month . it is orange in colour . Nearer the time go to space weather.com and it should keep you up to date there
Thank you!

Thanks wendi. xxx
Thank you so much for the links. I would have given you a BA but I don't think I can since I did not originate the post in this thread - (unless someone knows different?).

Thanks for the kind words .Its a pleasure to share I found out about this about 10 years ago .it was surprising how many people did not know they could see it .it was more exciting when the shuttles used to go up spotting them too and sometimes a double fly bye
I was on holiday in Sri Lanka in December 1998 and I remember my first sighting of the ISS from the beach as the sun's reflection glinted from it. The sighting prompted several discussions in the bar/during dinner (arguments - more like) as to whether or not the orbit was geostationary - this was a new word in most people's vocabulary at that time!
You're very welcome, wendilla. Credit where credit is due.
