Problems with growing beans in heatwave?
1 Answers
Has anybody tried growing the Thonpson & Morgan "Blauhilder" climbing French bean which produces a purple pod (which goes green when cooked)?
I experimented with several climbing varieties this summer. My red flowered runner beans were disastrous in that they didn't set in the heat but Blauhilder haven't flagged at all and for 2 weeks I've been picking large quantities of these beans. Would highly recommend them for surviving and the flowers setting in a heatwave.
