Went for my usual stroll with my eldest daughter this evening hoping to catch site of one of the foxes (haven't seen any of them for a while). We were lucky enough to see six of them play fighting with one another and stealing what looked like a large piece of card off each other. They were v confident, right out in the field, not skulking at the edge :)
There used to be a fox who came out of the huge field near us, to a house where they fed him. He was there every night around seven, and if he was crossing the road and a car approached, he would stop and stare the driver out before moving on.
Not seen him for months, so maybe he has passed on, or just moved.
When we go to see 'our' foxes we're really careful if anyone else is about (it's down by the parish hall which can be busy) in case anyone else thinks they're vermin and decides to do something about it.
Lovely to read, Sherr.....your kids are going to make fine adults with the way you encourage them.....
Sadly some folk will see the foxes as vermin......but we have to tolerate all sorts, I guess....can't just shoot or poison them on a whim......;-)
Glad you're keeping your visits a bit undercover....
My brother borrowed my wildlife camera and we have wonderful pictures of the hedgehog food being eaten by a hedgehog...followed by a fox....followed by a cat.....and my sister in law putting out more food..... :-)
