Went for my usual stroll with my eldest daughter this evening hoping to catch site of one of the foxes (haven't seen any of them for a while). We were lucky enough to see six of them play fighting with one another and stealing what looked like a large piece of card off each other. They were v confident, right out in the field, not skulking at the edge :)

Sounds like some cubs playing.
Question Author
There are two adults, one of last year's cubs and four of this year's cubs living there (there were five cubs).
Brilliant, ive not seen my fox for about 5 weeks now, there is another one taking food away tho.

So lucky to have foxes in your garden.
I fed her for 18 months, she had two lots of cubs and I treated her for Mange and de-fleaed and de-wormed her.
There used to be a fox who came out of the huge field near us, to a house where they fed him. He was there every night around seven, and if he was crossing the road and a car approached, he would stop and stare the driver out before moving on.

Not seen him for months, so maybe he has passed on, or just moved.

There's a lot of people who look after their fox visitors, my kids would love some in the garden but I don't think the cat would be happy.
Mine would turn up at about the same time and sit on my garden waiting to be fed, she use to avoid the local cats.
She even had her own facebook page with followers from all over the world.

Hope she comes back, you must miss having her around (we didn't see any of the foxes while it was really hot, maybe she's lying low).
I haven't seen our local foxes for a while. Something took away a dead bird from the garden, so maybe they are around at times.
I thought about the heat so hopefully now its a bit cooler she may turn up, I do have another fox coming for food so hopefully its a sibling.
Why not just get a few chickens in? They'l be all over your place like a rash. Vermin.

When we go to see 'our' foxes we're really careful if anyone else is about (it's down by the parish hall which can be busy) in case anyone else thinks they're vermin and decides to do something about it.
Lovely to read, Sherr.....your kids are going to make fine adults with the way you encourage them.....
Sadly some folk will see the foxes as vermin......but we have to tolerate all sorts, I guess....can't just shoot or poison them on a whim......;-)
Glad you're keeping your visits a bit undercover....

My brother borrowed my wildlife camera and we have wonderful pictures of the hedgehog food being eaten by a hedgehog...followed by a fox....followed by a cat.....and my sister in law putting out more food..... :-)
Used to see them coming down the close but no sightings this year
My last garden had a fox family from under next door's shed, Daisy....loved to watch them...doubt I will see one here...x
