Beware Undercooked Chicken

We are often reminded how dangerous undercooked chicken is. This sad case is a timely reminder that it CAN CAUSE DEATH.

Unfortunately it can be hard to spot undercooked food in hotels especially when they're usually buffets.

Ummmm is right, can't always see it's undercooked until it's too late and you maybe spot it pink and even then can't be sure. Tragic case as are others who have suffered similar.

My youngest son got infected with campylobacter through eating an undercooked BBQ chicken wing on a camping trip. I was shocked at how quickly this affected him and he ended up on a drip in hospital and took days to recover.

It's in the genes apparently how susceptible you are - to quote the article "The inquest heard that ... ...probability of contracting the more serious illness from food poisoning depends entirely on your genes."

I'm sure you don't need me to warn you your son should now be extra careful - I hope he's fully recovered and doesn't have any more such awful experiences.
