Dear Editor

When one clicks on a latest post, is there any way that one can be taken to the last page of that particular thread rather than the first?

I have requested this on numerous occasions to the last Editor, but still nothing has been done, is it not possible?

I suppose you mean the right-hand side bar, but there's always the option of clicking instead on the link, in the main list, saying "last by so-and-so at such-and-such a time", which gets you where you want to go.

Jim, that pre-supposes the link is indeed in the main list, and not on the 2nd or 3rd pages of obscurity......
Well, by definition, latest posts will appear high up in the "recently answered" tab, either on the main page or in the relevant board.

All the same, now that I think about it I would have thought it makes sense for the "latest posts" link to go to the latest post in the thread, rather than to the header.
It would remove an extra click for those who wish to go to the end, but add a click for those who wish to start from the front.

Swings and roundabouts really.
Never found it a problem, just click on 'last'.

Yes but that way you have to find a particular thread which might not have been recently subscribed to.

By using Latest Posts one knows someone has recently added their comment.

The method I use now is to find the latest post which I am interested in, then scroll down and select last or the recent number.
yes, that makes sense. People who click on "latest posts" probably want to go to the latest post, rather than "thread started last week".
Hi AOG,
Good suggestion. I'm going to create a poll, let it run for a few days, and if the general consensus is that going directly to the last page would be better, we'll look into making it happen.
It certainly wouldn't bother me either way, one click gets me where I need to be.
A Poll makes sense, yes.

Thank you AB Editor.
The poll is now on the homepage - please cast your votes!
