Could this be down to our young who cannot afford to buy their own homes, so live in rented accommodation?
People nowadays being able to afford to employ professionals to carry out their home improvements?
Or simply the lack of DIY skills amongst our young?

I have been to John Lewis to look through their books chosen what I want but will source it online. Paint I have picked up some shade cards and am at the planning stage. I used to like getting plants from garden centres but even the nearest is nearly an hour away on public transport. He got the time wrong - he thought it would take a few monhs, it took a year; and maybe not everyone wants to spend that much time, but I don't suppose most people ever did.
