The programme that was on channel 4 last night....

I dont think ive seen anything quite so disgusting in a long time.

The men deserve all themoney they get.

I found the programme really sad and wonder what some of those people done in order to die alone without anyone noticing...?

The neighbours who act like they knew the people really well were VERY frustrating and nosey... they obviously knew them well enough not to notice whether they were dead or alive!!

Gosh yeah, thats freaky.

Well it was certainly one job i couldn't have done.

And what about the guy trying to nick the the stuff from the truck!? sick people - although he looked like a druggy or something..
Oh I must have missed that bit. I bet that little girl on the stairs is having nightmares now from what that bloke said about body fluids.
It was the bubbling, moving body fluids that freaked me out
nat_84 only saw the bit with the man on the back of the wagon and the driver swearing at him, he did look a bit spaced.

4getmenot - was your neighbour ok????????

yes the bubbling body fluids... lovely...

And as for the way that bloke was chatting to those girls!!!

Was he trying to scar them for life??!!!!
The big guy (Matt) who'd been running a cleaning business for 10 years was quality. Great deadpan delivery; (standing in the middle of a room packed to the ceiling with piles of newspaper-wrapped faeces and bottles of urine) "you'd definitely say his Dyson had packed up". On the sadder side of things, people dying alone in big cities without their neighbours knowing is something that's only going to happen more often.
It was the packets of faeces wrapped up like fish and chips that got us (especially as we were eating dinner whilst watching this)...
I've been looking for temping work lately and telling the recruitment agencies 'I'll do anything' - but honestly, after watching this programme, I think I have changed my mind! I don't know how those guys manage to keep their dinners down after a day of shovelling up bubbling body fluids and wriggling maggots - I hope to god they are well-paid.
There was a similar episode of Man's Work on Bravo where the presenter had to work for a week cleaning up murders, suicides, dirty protests etc in LA. Now that place is f*****d up, funnily enough one of the places he cleaned up looked like something my Nan did in her nursing home when she missed the comode.
I didn't see this prog but I've been thinking about this...this could be a particularly suitable punishment for a court to hand out to someone who persistently causes vandalism, or criminal damage.
I admire the guys who do this work and no disrespect to them, but how about getting the criminals convicted of the above to do this work for say, one week as part of a community service?
As a pest cotroller I have dealt with similar but not human bodies, A dead rat will stink a block of flats out so god only knows what a human body will do.

One of the worst things I came across was a lady who kept her compost heap on the floor in her kitchen and it was infested with rats, to make it worse, the lady had very long black hair which when she brushed it she put all the dead hair in a full size dustbin( also in the kitchen) the rats were using this to line the nest, all the juices ran all over the floors and was smelling suprisingly sweet actually, but the whole thing was gross!!
