Burning A Cd.

I have made a list of MP3 tracks that I need to burn onto a blank CD, via Window Media Player.

I have dragged them over to the burning position in a certain order, and pressed the 'BURN' button, they have all been successfully burnt onto the disc, but the trouble that I am experiencing is that they haven't been burnt onto the CD in the same order that I placed them.

Anyone know why this is please?

did you burn them one at a time or as a unit? (sorry, can't actually help, but it's happened to me)

Thanks for your answer but I don't think one can burn a number of tracks 'one at a time' on the same disc, because once you have done one the disc is finalised.

Rename the MP3 files with a track number.

e.g. instead of simply having "Let It Be", "Yellow Submarine", "Hey Jude", etc, use "01 Let It Be", "02 Yellow Submarine", "03 Hey Jude".

Thanks for your suggestion but it has not made any difference, except another disc scrapped.

Can't understand it they are burnt in the correct order but play in a mixed up order.

I'm not very good with computers but is whatever you are playing the CD on perhaps set to play random tracks instead of playing them in order?

I am playing them on the same computer that they were burnt on.

As Ernie Morecambe said, "I am playing the right tracks but not necessarily in the right order".

Not so, I checked that they were in the correct order in the burn list and also while they were being burnt.

Are you burning an audio disc or a data one?

As long as it's an audio disc the standard way of arranging the tracks should be all that you need. (If it's an MP3 one then the software on the device reading it will determine in which order the files are processed).

The whole idea of Buenchico's suggestion was to force the alphabetical order - it appears the suggestion didn't work.

You've cracked it, after thinking over your suggestion, I got to examine Window Media Player, and at the bottom I noticed 2 crossed curved arrows, which gives one the option of turning shuffle on or off, mine was set at on.

I now have 4 perfectly good discs, all playing the same set of tracks in perfect order.
