A great performance yesterday from Brighton. Mourinho said Utd made too many mistakes, which was correct but he should have added that Brighton forced those mistakes out of Utd. Utd couldn't handle Brighton and they played poorly because of that. But I bet Brighton don't play like that next week. Fergie was right all those years ago. Teams only make a genuine effort when they play United. It's a cup final for them. They don't make the same effort against other teams. Every game for United is a cup final. There were some Brighton fans on the radio just after the match and they were saying that the priority for them is to stay in the Premier League now. I suppose that's true now they've had their cup final. I've heard that from other fans before as well, i.e. " I don't care if we get relegated as long as we beat United". They don't say that about any other team. United are the team to beat!

The good thing is they can be beaten, now somehow teams need to do it to city or it will be a very dull premiership race

BUT......United were never a threat going forward and had a "soft belly" which allowed an average Premiership side to score three goals.
Not a good start for the Manchester side.

I agree Clarion, back in May Brighton were fighting for Premier League survival, so I expected a performance from them even though United had secured second from the scouse wannabe's. Yesterday United did look lethargic, no coherence in play and have to agree with Ince and Murphy on MOTD2... Brighton did deserve the win. As for them playing like their families lives depend on winning like they do against United... against the other "Big Clubs" will they balls... Brighton are not the only club who can play better than they show week in and week out disrespecting the Manager, their fans etc... Shameful.

I expect Liverpool to beat them easily this week, maybe 5-0. Brighton have had their cup final for this season. As for Utd, the next game will be a tough one but it depends if they're up for it or not.
