Does anyone know how to open a safe?

Our house has a safe bolted to the floor in the hallway. We have never had the combination. We would like to move it but can't unless we can open it, as it is bolted to the floor from the inside.

Any ideas how to open it? It is an Eagle safe and has a dial on the front with the numbers 0, 10, 20 all the way to 90. Thanks

There's usually a little hidden catch round the back, or underneath, in case you forget the combination.

Thanks Catso. However, I can't get around the back of the safe as it is flush against the wall, and as I said before it is bolted to the ground from the inside. Any other ideas?

Call a local lock and safe company (try yellow Pages) that handles Eagle range - would be the quickest option - it is meant to be a safe anyway . . . .one onllne with a helpline is Saunderson Security 0800 376 0700 or another is Needasafe on 0800 073 1590 who have a technical helpline and opening tech. line - may be able to help. There may be a master code that over-rides any combination

Course, how do they know its your safe . . .?

Only other way is a happy 5 hours with a hired jack hammer and lift the floor around it, relay and repair. . . .

That must be a bit in the way!! What a wierd place to have a safe. I thought they normally went behind pictures, or inside secret passages that you get to by pullingon a book.
