i did see a clip once when they were at millbrook test track where the stig was testing an old xjs and then they were looking under the bonnet and in the background you could just hear and make out jensen button saying something, now why would he be there?

I know they film alot in the winter thats why the cars are different colours in the studio than on the day of testing.

Perry McCarthy is the 'OLD' Stig...
He left the series shortly after they almost destrroyed a classic Jag by thrashing it to within an inch of it's life...

Remember the XJS flying off the aircraft carrier??
That was the 'end' of Perry Stig.

Also, if you read the article you will see at the end of it that he says "It's funny apperaing in black......"

The new Stig dresses in white...

In the last series of Top Gear (2005) Stig was Ben Collins, although they may have replaced him for the current series as it was fairly common knowledge about his identity since a national newspaper let it slip earlier last Christmas.

The main reason I know its Ben is that I have followed F3 for years and would recognize Ben by his driving stance and general shape
