Once you have an idea, try and pick up some work experience locally if you can, or apply for a temp. secretary post - that's a great way to find out the workings of the Beeb from the inside. Now is a time of change within the BBC as Michael Grade brings his new broom - don't miss your chance. Oh, and check out the Media Section in The Guardian on Monday - lots of BBC posts are advertised there. Good luck.
Thanks Andy, the thing is i know i want to do TV production and obviously i cant just jump in there, plus there is something that will probably let me down and its the fact im 16. I work in an estate agents the now and its just not me, I mean my total dream is to present a music show eg saturday morning show, CD:UK etc and i know i have the personality to do it!
OK, based on that additioanl information, try and get some work experience at your local BBC radio station, or TV station if one is near enough. the secretary / researcher route is ideal for you given your age, so pursue the ads. and be very very very persistant. You have to be sure you will be unhappy doing anything else at all, that's the only level of commitment that will sustain you through the pile of wannabes you'll need to climb over to find your career. Go for it - and when you are a prducer, give an ageing freelance music writer a job!
