My dad has inadvertently run out of his 60mg MST Continus tablets (Orange) over the weekend. He has a couple of boxes of the 10mg MST Continus tablets (Tan), which he uses to give finer control over the pain he's experiencing long term.

Would it be safe for him to take six of the 10mg tablets as a substitute for the one 60mg tablet until he can speak to his pharmacist on Monday?

I know the answer seems obvious, but I'd like to check to make sure because of the prolonged release nature of the tablets. If the answer is yes, can all lower strength MST Continus tablets be multiplied up like this in an emergency?

Thank you.

Thank you Sqad. I'm very grateful. My dad was issued with a new script on Monday and has asked that I keep an eye on the situation to prevent this happening again.
