TBH the EU are unlikely to accept it anyway so surely the PM must see it's a non starter.

Has May made ANY concessions to the EU ?
The EU will almost certainly reject the Chequers proposals precisely because it did not address any of the EU’s concerns.
The Conservative party has been split over Europe for 50 years. No leader will ever get them all to agree on Brexit, and she has quite rightly given up trying to do so.

Given that no one (much) finds it acceptable I figure it's one of two possible scenarios. a) She is, indeed, willing to cross more red lines to go down as the one who achieved a deal, no matter the cost, or b) She's planning on the no-deal and being able to say she did her utmost to get a deal, so failure to achieve one is not down to her.
Her cunning plan is working Barnier has said they can sign off on a deal by October with a full EU council meeting by mid Nov.

My though is any deal the EU is happy with is probably the death knell of a true and useful Brexit.

Apprently, Boris is now saying May's brexit plan is 'worse than status quo'.
I think that's a little harsh, although I have to say they were never the same after Alan Lancaster left.
