It's hindsight!

I remember very clearly as a teenager, interacting with people who were the age I am now, and I found it tricky, but possible, to connect with them, because I hadn't had their life experiences.

Now I interact with teenagers and find it tricky, but not impossible, to connect with them, because they haven't had my life experiences.

dunnitall - I assumed the OP referred to 'life back then … ' and answered accordingly, why not give that a shot?

I can honestly verify that adulthood is grossly over rated and yes obviously everything was simpler 'back then' if you go back far enough. Things were a doddle when my main concern was what to call my new guinea pig :)

Ok AH. Yes it was simpler....not so much stress IMO... We didn't have to conform so much....we thought of others, didn't have to portray a persona or impress others for fear of being 'outcast'.

That's how I see it....plus others did consider their neighbours and not just do as they please now and say 'soodd' others. Much preferred it then than I do now...but fear even expressing these thoughts I'm in the minority .... Eek.
