Never expected the twist at the end, though old Jed usually has one up his sleeve. Very understated acting performance by the timid little victim/' engineer and Jihadi'. Watching her turn from mouse to lion was like watching Jekyll turn into Hyde. Brilliant series and, like many on here, i look forward to next year's return of Line Of Duty.

// Remember what the Chief Superintendent said recently and promptly got suspended," You have to be whiter than white".//
oh dear missed that - was he waving a gun or clutching a detonator switch ?
The long bit where he has to defuse himself, I thought too long.
and the lack of identity of the army vet
and the leddy jihadi - I suppose that has to be jihadiya
generally as retro will confirm from the IRA - the bomb makers don't usually blow themselves up ( unless accidentally but that is another story) - they leave that to other easily led dildos
so the final episode - I thought 'oh is that how he ended it?'

Absolutely abysmal! It started well, but was downhill all the way after episode 3. Bad script, very bad directing, and largely unconvincing casting and acting.
We happen to be here, after a couple of years since first watching it, starting on the box-set of 'Homeland', and maybe it's an unfair comparison, but 'Bodyguard' looks like amateur dramatics at the local rep.

Oh PP but I remember the "paddy factor"well. Usual practice was for a good old boy to place a carrier bag containing a 5 litre tin of petrol on the front living room window sill of his proddy enemy. The can should have a minute charge of PE taped to one side with a det. Idea being the charge blew the ignited petrol through the window and destroyed all oxygen in the room and the lungs of the inhabitants.
In their haste they sometimes placed the can the wrong way round and if seamus crossed the other side of the road to admire his handy work he would see a spectacular fire ball attack him as he activated the det by radio control. They often got more than their eyebrows singed. Oh how we laughed about the "Paddy Factor"

Wow! I had to record the last three episodes and intended to watch just one then have an early night when we arrived home yesterday.....
Well that went out the window......had to watch all three. The blanket I'm knitting will have a waist in the middle as my hands tensed on the needles and stitches became tighter and tighter.....
Some brilliant performances and twists but it took me an age and a big glass of Bailey's to unwind after thinking that David and his family would die in the car exploding at the very end.....I think I had my knitting over my eyes at that point......just excellent......x
