Implants

Sorry I don't seem to be getting any posts from Giz - could anybody help who has had the implants done. Thanks
My implants will be in two weeks coming on Monday. Whilst the stitches are supposed to be dissovable (sp) there are still little threads hanging down per se.
I did go to the dentist last Monday and he said like all was well ie no infections. I have to go back to him next Wednesday.
However there is a swelling/lump behind the implants. Will this go down or is the swelling coming from the implants being placed there and will it go down eventually.

If I remember correctly, my stitches were also meant to be dissolvable, but there were still some bits that the dentist needed to remove.
I'm fairly sure that I also encountered lumps and bumps in my gums in the vicinity of the implants, which eventually subsided.
If in any doubt, just point things out to your dentist .... he should take some x-rays to ensure that everything is going to plan. It's a while ago when my implant journey started (Feb 2017), but I'm sure my dentist took x rays a short time after, to ensure all was well.

yes, he may call you in in six months or so as well, just for another check that everything has gone as planned. This may be different from one dentist to another, though.
The stitches should dissolve, but once in a while they don't. If not he'll just snip them out (painless). Swelling is probably just that - swelling, as you've just had an operation. It should go quietly down too.
