What Should My Answer Be? When Getting Feedback.
5 Answers
I went for an advertised position at work 3 months ago, 8 candidates 6 full time positions.. I didn't get it!! Only two people did! I was walking through work one day when one if my managers approached me and said the only reason I didn't get the job was my interview technique and suggested if I go for it again he would help me, which he did.. They then advertised a six month secondment 5 applicants four positions.. In the interview I was prepared, I was led through by the manager I had ideas but once again unsuccessful.. So they want me to go for more feedback what should I say? I wAnt to be nasty as I felt like I've been misled.. He practically said it was mine.. I need something to say that is both clever and proactive.
Thanks

You might mention being disappointed that you took previous advice and it turned out to be insufficient. They may have further advice regarding that.

Take the feedback, listen to it and say thanks. Whatever the other attributes of the employee, a smart mouth is never attractive or desirable. You may think that he practically said the job was yours. He may think that he made a genuine offer of help but that on the day you didn't make the grade. We have no way of knowing who is right.
