Drill Size
9 Answers
I'm following some instructions for a drilliing job and it asks me to use a drill bit or bits like this, (o6 o3.2) where the 'o' has a diagonal line through it. If I remember correctly that means diameter. If so, my drill bits are marked in full sizes, no fractions/decimal points. So for size 3.2 would size 3 suffice? This is of course assuming it does mean diameter!

Using a different size drill depends on what the holes are for and in what type of material you are drilling. If the 3.2 mm drill is for a clearance hole ie something is being pushed through it, then a 3mm drill is to small. Nobody can answer your question fully without more details.
