The Truth About Harry Quebert - Potential Spoiler

Recommended by a friend I've downloaded this and having watched the first two episodes, I'm finding it quite intriguing. McDreamy, Partrick Dempsey, plays the title role. Is anyone else watching it?

Don't you think this murder drama is totally implausible? ie a beautiful 15 year old girl turns up on totally deserted beach in an isolated location and then has a love relationship with this older school teacher (he was not a best selling author at the time). She loves seagulls? (scavengers of the air), flagellates herself whilst screaming with the pain, the horribly scarred chauffer (whose maiming was inflicted by the millionaire in his youth), the young policeman kicking hell out of him. Notes left at the isolated house several times by an apparently invisible person with no sign of a vehicle in the area. Every character blatantly highlighted as the potential murderer in an attempt to mislead its gullible viewers
That is just a few of the sub plots.
I would be interested to read of any other Abers who also found this storyline absurd. I seem to remember Dempsey's name appearing several times in the credits.
