Hannah Hauxwell is a yorkshire lady, subject of many tv documentaries over the years.
She was 'discovered' in 1973 living a very harsh life in a remote farm on the Yorkshire Moors, without running water or electricity. She had no tv and very little contact with modern society.
The first documentary covered her life and the hardships she endured, especially when she lost her entire flock of sheep during one dreadful winter.
Subsequently she was documented being shown the sights of America and Europe. Later her heartbreak when the family farm was eventually sold and she was moved to a small flat.
She became much loved the world over, and people sent her parcels addressed simply 'Hannah on the Moor'.
To this day she is remembered and loved by people who know her and fans of the books and series.
