Have just looked at this site for the first time. Is it a reliable, reputable site?

ETSY is as safe if not better than EBay. They accept paypal so you have all the buyer benefits. You have to bee careful because most items are from the USA. I used to sell on Ebay I don't anymore I sell on ETSY all over the world. They have a feedback system like EBay but the stuff is more 'niche'.You can have things custom made on a lot of items. I've bought a couple of nice antiques from them with no problems. Aren't they just an aggregator like Amazon Marketplace?
Is it Etsy.co.uk......as on this Trustpilot link....

I don't know much about the site, Jno. It looks like they might be an alternative Amazon for handmade goods. Some lovely items on there.
Retrochic used to sell goods on Etsy....

Shame she's not still here to tell you about it. ;o)

Thanks for that, Ginge. Some varied reviews on there but it's given me some ideas as to what to watch out for.
it looks like a marketplace for individual traders to sell stuff, but some of those reviews suggest Etsy itself won't do much to help if things go wrong. Probably too busy working for the long term health of the ecosystem.
Yes, I've used them to buy things for my daughter in law. She uses it a lot as well. We've had no problems.
Yes, Tilly, if I come across a site I'd like to use, I always check it out on Trustpilot....there really are some shockers about!

Thanks all. Will have a closer look at it tomorrow.
You’re supposed to create your own website with them, which is kinda like a pop-up digital market stall from which to sell your wares.
Sounds similar to my experience with eBay.
Woe betide you if you get caught by a rouge dealer.
Why are you buying rouge OG?

:-)
A bit Bourjois maybe?
I am registered with them and have bought things. Never had any problems and like the fact you can get unique items.

I bought a lovely tin to put my cats collar in when she was killed by a car. The lady printed part of a painting I had done of her on the lid,it was lovely. The people on ETSY are really nice and tend to buy and sell on there for different reasons than EBAY. I would not hesitate to buy anything from ETSY and customer service is based in Ireland and you can get through really easily.
