hello. I thought that I was losing all my limited skills last week. I had about a dozen clues still unsolved even after three attempts. I saved the crossword to check the answers when the answers are published to see if I can learn. There were just too many to seek the advice and guidance of you (wonderful) people who normally ride to my rescue.
This week I have struggled again. Not helped by not being able to have a proper go on Saturday because SWMBO had other ideas about how I should spend my time. Not much better on Sunday but I made a start. And this evening I have nearly finished it. Actually I have answers for all the clues but some I am not sure about.
The first is "on the point of retiring, cut expenditure" My stab at an answer is "outgoing" which (I think) means expenditure. But the rest is beyond me.
Linking (on the puzzle) with this is "Missile launch site shelters right in the shade" I think the answer is "ochre" which is a shade and contains an r for right. But "missile sites etc? No idea.
And finally "Man stops erring by a crude vice." With the letters I have "debauchery" fits . But why (other than it is a sin/vice)
Thanks for guidance.
