Sunday. It looks like 0115 is the new wake up time. Such is life.

Ireland did the job in style yesterday. :o} It was a good game to watch.

Not a lot to do today, the usual running around, then some domesticity methinks.

Just opened the blinds, it's gloomy out there, and the clouds are going the wrong way, not looking good.

Morning - still breezy out there, good for leaf fires though........

By the time I'd caught up with the thread everyone had gone.

Morning Rowan.....I'm late this morning, an extra 30 mins in bed and been out salvaging leaf fires....more raking today, there being no rest for the wicked.

Used to love that job but I waited till they were all down. Had two huge leaf piles at the back of the garden the leaves from the previous year would be leaf mould for the following spring. That and three compost bins, I miss my big garden.

Another good trick is to rake them onto the borders as a mulch. Wouldn't waste good leaves by burning them.

you haven't seen the amount here - must be at least thirty+ trees in the immediate vicinity, so yes, it's under the bushes but also fires are needed to clear them

Shame though, still there is something nice about fires on Autumn days. We used to save all the branches that came down in the storm's for our chiminea, and spend lovely evenings sitting chatting. Boozy coffee in hand. That was in my life pre Dave.

That's the next job, out with the chainsaw and knock some logs out of the bigger branches that have come down or that we have thinned this year.
