Effectively remaining in the EU without legitimate route out unless we are freed by our EU masters. As such it is one major part of the draft plan that can not be accepted, and would be a betrayal of the UK. Plus, why would the EU want to negotiate further if the inevitable default position, if they do nothing, is we stay put ? No incentive for them at all to do anything.
I think if we were faced with having to crash out of the EU just because France insisted on fishing in our waters or because Spain wanted Gibraltar exckudrd ffok a trade deal, then it might raise a few europhobic hackles? No?
If we end up trading on WTO terms it means that any country in the world could import its goods at the same next-to-zero tariffs as those between say the U.K. and Ireland were the border there to stay the same as now. You don’t need to be Einstein or Nostradamus to see how that would end ...
