Cockle?
Warms the cockles of my heart is a well known saying but don't understand the John Wesley part..

I don't get the John Wesley part either. If the answer is cockle the the setter could have given a more simple clue. e.g The french follow male bird. Because this question is near the end of the quiz me thinks its a stinker!
In one of the bios of John Wesley it reads that . . . On 24 May 1738 he experienced what has come to be called his evangelical conversion, when he felt his "heart strangely warmed". He subsequently left the Moravians, beginning his own ministry.

Yes. I've read everything on the Aldersgate conversion of John Wesley - but no cockle! The answer must be WHAT was strangley warmed in J W's heart. I still can't work out if this clue is cryptic or is simply asking a question. Either way I'm still flummoxed
