Dental Implants

Does anyone know if it is possible to volunteer to have dental implants done by dental trainees at dental schools as it would be the only way I could possibly get them done (as I would need to win the lottery to be able to afford them myself).

It is not however appropriate for students to place implants, as implantology is a post graduate subject. Another possible way is to try and find a qualified dentist who is on an implant course, you would get them at a very reduced rate and the dentist would be placing them under consultant supervision, so very safe. This is assuming you are a suitable candidate for implants, not everyone is.
In answer to tony1941 I would strongly recommend you do NOT take his advice. His wife may be very fortunate and the implants may last indefinitely (however please note that NO dental restoration is permanent even implants).
If his wife's implants fail she will have two options go back to Majorca and get them repaired or replaced if possible! or attempt to find someone here who would be willing to sort it. Most dentists I've spoke to wouldn't be happy to correct dentistry carried out abroad and even if they would the cost is likely to be much greater than if they were done here in the first place!!!
