They didn’t suddenly decide to contact him out of the blue, they were following the law much as it seems abhorrent to us. The council is not above the law. //
Thank you for that - I have not followed the case in detail, the news report I heard did refer to the 'following of guidelines' and by definition, a 'guideline' is not mandatory, so it begged the question why anyone with an ounce of human compassion would not reject it as being without any merit whatsoever.
