I can't find the air base with motto 'power to the hunter'. I know the abbey is Pluscarden and the King Robert the Bruce. My road map & Google don't show an air base 15m NW of the abbey.
Any help gratefully received.

trouble is, raf lossiemouth is northeast of pluscarden, not northwest

RAF Kinloss. If you ask Google it will confirm that "Power to the Hunter" is the motto. Nimrod aircraft.

Well that's my competition up the spout. Only went by the founding date (hadn't found the motto). Oh, well!

I had RAF Kinloss too. The base is about 5 miles NE of Forres. Forres is between Elgin and Nairn.

Both multimap.com and the OS free get-a-map service don't show the base until they've been fairly highly zoomed in. google is probably the same.
