What did you wear for your wedding?

My first wedding dress was bought for me by my future mother in law....she'd never had but always wanted a daughter so I was the next best thing....for a while anyway.

She marched me into an upmarket shop.....announced that there was no budget and bought me a beautiful dress....simple but beautiful. I still have it...size 10....but it seems to have shrunk over the years..... :-(
The second was a soft, pale green sleeveless number......flowed smoothly over the slim hips and ended just below the knee....
The wedding itself was a day of disasters and much laughter...but the frock was nice....size 12.......though it too seems to have shrunk.... :-(

If I ever remarry it will be when large flowing kaftans are in fashion...... :-)

My mother married in a black pin striped suit.....with a bump hiding bouquet......and I remember my sister wearing the suit in the 70s and looking the height of fashion.....x

Kval...do...it'd be unique and very different I know....x
mine was a furry zebra print bodice with a cream silk skirt with train. I wore the bodice with a pair of black trousers later on, but it proved to be too expensive to dry clean to wear all that often
I had a new(ish) suit from a recent job interview ... and bought a new tie.

That was fine - but the specially grown moustache was, quite frankly, a shocker ...
Question Author
Bednobs....that sounds absolutely stunning!

Well not many of us on here have grown a moustache for the occasion, Dave..... ;-)
I had a dress made as I couldn't find one I liked and a pair of hand-made, Italian leather (white) Doc Marten shoes (that only cost £15 and they made two different pairs because they got a mark on the first pair) - I've still got both.
I knew you were a Villa fan at heart, Dave ( Pancho that is ) ;-)

Do you still wear them, Sherr?....they sound lovely...x

Think that was the guy at Melv's wedding, Tony.... :-)
I don’t wear them because they make me look like Minnie Mouse - they are lush though :)
Half the blokes at my wedding hid when it was time for the photo's shrieking 'No Photo's No Photo's' dunno why I hadn't invited any cops.
Question Author
I bet they are, Sherr...white Italian leather....bliss....x

And you had the dark glasses and fake tache, Tony?
First time round the traditional long white dress with a bustle and train.
Second time a brown and cream matching dress and coat.
Third time a cream finely knitted suit with a pleated skirt by Paul or is it Frank Usher. That was expensive!
Three times is more than enough, that's why OH and I have not married even though we have been together 28 years now.
Well, I guess as my comment inspired the thread I should comment.

Dark blue velvet ensemble with burnt orange embroidery, A Line and suited both me and the setting back then.
Question Author
Pah! I'd know you anywhere, Tony..... :-)

You didn't fancy a fourth outfit then, Caran?... ;-)

Mamya....my bridesmaids were in dark blue velvet with burnt orange trim....loved it....x
