Help! How To Stop A Squeak/hum Of Spinning Plastic...?
11 Answers
I've bought some spinning led multicolour lamps for my twin nephews bedrooms.
The lights are great, however, as the plastic dome spins, it emits a sort of squeak/hum sound every second or two.
i think its similar to when you rub a finger around the rim of a glass and it sometimes it vibrates just right and chimes.
But obviously this is just annoying and unsuitable for bedrooms - its loud enough to be annoying.
Problem is, i haven't much time to return and get something else
So, has anyone any ideas what i can do to stop this?
without ruining or making a mess of them of course, as if i cant stop it i'll have to return them.
the dome is attached, so not sure how i can access the rims just yet, going to try tomorrow, if anyone has any ideas of how to stop it
thanks for your help :)

Joko you still nee to lubricate, maybe some vasiline will work? Nothing ventured nothing gained, and if you think the noise will be annoying I would give it a try, just applying a small amount using a cotton bud. If worst comes to worst, you'll have to buy something else and return them after Christmas. To maybe give you some more advice can you post website connection of where you got them, "a picture is worth a thousand words"
