I am looking through the cover plan and I am wondering if I read this correct.

Link to the cover plan.
https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/currys-tv-deals-1330-commercial.html

The left column is the 5 yr free cover. I did not pay for the extra cover plan which shows onth weight hand column.

What do you poster think?
If indeed to pay for the parts then it's totally out of order and I will return the TV and buy it from John Lewis as they also offer free 5 yr warranty.

I can't see anywhere that you will have to pay for parts. No mention of that in the exclusions.
Not very clear, is it? The box for 'parts included' is not ticked.
You need to phone them to clarify and if parts are included ask them to put it in writing.

I just phoned there knowhow repair team and they said the warranty is with the manufacturer Samsung. I confirmed with Samsung and they said they only provide 12 months warranty. The warranty is with Currys. But now it seems Currys is lying and that box is not ticked for including parts. Because today's repair method is to keeps on swapping parts until it is fixed. But I don't want to pay for the parts.
Dreadful service. How long have you had the tv? Did you ask at the time about the conditions of the warranty? Did you buy online or in the store?

I just have to accept its unlucky that I bought from Currys. I can't do anything now as I already parted my money in eGift voucher.

The TV is not delivered yet. It will be delivered on this weekend.
If you bought it online you have every right to reject it.

I phoned the Currys warranty team again telling them I had confirmation from Samsung that they are providing 12 months warranty only.
And now they said the warranty is with themselves Currys and I asked about the parts and labour, they said now it includes it. But I pointed to the website that unless I pat the extra monthly cover it won't include the parts.

Since they now have seems to say the warranty does include the parts and labour, I asked for written confirmation. They said they won't do it.

There you go, only time will tell when I make a claim. I hope I don't need to.

But be warned and I will never buy such an expensive item from them again.
dont open the box, send it back and ask for a refund, then go to richer sounds or john lewis and get a proper warranty.
Question Author
I found the CEO email and sent him an email and asked for confirmation as their Knowhow team gives inconsistent information and leads to no assurance or confidence of them at all.
If I don't get a response, I will reject the delivery and ask for refund.
Anyone know how the refund works when purchased through the employee eGift scheme?
I keep telling people not to buy from Currys - and this sort of thing shows why.
John Lewis (included 5-year warranty) or Richer Sounds (6-years warranty) so much better.
What ever Currys staff tell you, the contract you have is with them, not the manufacturer. But modern electrical items will either fail within 3 months or outlive even a 5 year warranty. Just go for lowest cost for item you want and don't get sucked into any extended warranty plan.
