Dog behaving badly?

Have just come accross a fantastic way to stop doggie behaving badly whilst on a lead. I was told to fill a small squirty bottle with plain tap water and when the dog pulls on the lead or starts going where he shouldn't etc, squirt the water either in front of them or on them if necessary, perfectly harmless but it makes them jump and stops them instantly, my dog is fantastic now, I only have to show him the water God and he is putty in my hands!

My beastie doesn't like water anyway so it works particularly well, I was staggered with the results, good luck.
I keep a filled squirty bottle at home and if they start barking or squaring up to each other I just say 'where's the spray' and they soon pack it in! I used to use a water pistol and said 'where's the gun' but the neighbours got a bit worried!
Barkbusters use this method you can use water bombs as well it can also stop a dog from lunging at another dog when out on walks, its a way of bringing the dogs attention back on to you, you drop the bomb on the floor in front of your dog the noise and the droplets of water should stop his bad behaviour so that you can reinforce that desired behaviour. I will say this though some people on this sight won't like this method as it's not what they call positive reinforcement training, I'm glad that it works for you as I know that pos reinforcement does not always work with a lot of dogs but as with any training of this type be very careful you can easily get the wrong outcome if you do something wrong. Good luck with the training :-)
