34 Rear moving forward sat composed (6)

Just to complicate matters, this is one of the 4 special clues where the real answer has to be encoded before input. I have worked out the code already, but am a little unsure of how to apply it.
Therefore the letter pattern should be one of the four letter patterns below.
_ _ HGTE
_ _ GHTE
_ _ HGET
_ _ GHET
Many thanks I hope you understand my query. Merry Christmas to you all.

JJ109 take the last letter of a common 6 letter word meaning 'sat' and move it up to 3rd position, making a word for 'composed'. I've written out the code phrase and checked it against your four suggestions but I end up with _ _GDGM. I've now recycled the puzzle so can't check it (perhaps I've gone wrong somewhere). Happy Christmas to you.

Thanks Prof - I have _ _ GDGP for the crossers - the P being from "Inwrap" so am I wrong with that?

Thanks Prof - crossed posts
You're right with the crossers and the answer jj109 - the coded answers must match the straight answers where they cross (you just need the code to find the unchecked letters).
ditto jj109 (hope you can recycle it now - enjoy the rest of the day).

I have your answer to 34 now and the code grid, i've had a long time

Damn - I got my left and rights mixed upwhen the letters are on the same line! The HG should be DA

Thank you very much for your help. Finally finished
That's it JJ109.
It was a particularly tricky word to reverse-engineer from coded entry to straight answer (for the reason you mention).
Glad you're free of it - Playfair isn't my idea of a Christmas present!
